thanks to God that always gives godbless. The last semester in my study, we have
make a report or inscription as a last assignment to study. Iam as a college
student and as a writer will be report about story or History Standing of
Syuhada Mosque Buildings and LPQ in Syuhada Mosque Yogyakarta.
Syuhada
Mosque Yogyakarta which is a history and culture buildings in Special Region
Yogyakarta there are center of city. And then in the Syuhada mosque there are
organization of LPQMS that is organization to learning Al-Qur’an begun
elementary up to tilawah Al-Qur’an or Qiroah, to be profesional reader an
Al-Qur’an. LPQMS as a center of learning Al-Qur’an in Yogyakarta city that lead
with some lecture or ustad and ustadzah that capable and competent. They have
profesional skill to teach each other class for learning an AL-Qur’an.
I
will thanks giving to many other who help me and have fluent to make a report
“History Standing Syuhada Mosque Buildings and LPQMS in Yogyakarta” as a last
assignment to my study. In this opportunity i want accomplished my assignment and thanks giving to:
1. My
mother who has usually support my study and has paid the administration to my
study.

Arief Husein as a direct of LPQMS and many people in Syuhada mosque who have
help me, the big family in Syuhada Mosque Yogyakarta.

all of ustad and ustadzah who have lead me learning an Al-Qur’an in Syuhada
Mosque Yogyakarta, they are ustadzah Umi Nur Istiqomah, ustadzah Indra, ustad
Ismail Hane, Ustad Herfan Said, S.ag, ustad Muttaqin, ustad Suwandi, ustadzah
Muhibah, ustadzah Umi Ummayah, etc.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
A.Background
of the Problem
Syuhada
mosque is located in Kotabaru, south of Tugu Yogyakarta which is in the center
Region of Yogyakarta city. Syuhada mosque had been built as live monument for
remembering to Indonesian patriotism and all of people who had struggled to
defend the independence of Indonesia. Syuhada mosque had been built for respecting to heroes who had died
in a war. They had died for actualizing the truth and justice. That mosque
functions for remembering the heroes who
had success to struggle Independent of Indonesia from colonial goverment of
Dutch and Japan.
The
phase of Dutch colonial, Kotabaru was occouped the people who white skin and
the Indonesian people who rich and high intelectual. That phase in Kotabaru not
yet there was one of praying place for moslem, that is a mosque. In the first
year 1942 phase of Japan colonial, all of people white skin and the people of Dutch had moved from Kotabaru.
The blank homes which they leave, and then be occupied to Japanese and half of
Indonesian people who have moslem religious.
After
Indonesia had independent, Kotabaru had been occupied to Armys member, youngers
and students who have moslem religious. That phase in Kotabaru not yet there
was a mosque for praying of moslem people. In 1949 October 14st had been
standing the committee to built a mosque who was elder with Mr. Assaat. Because
of that moment a lot of people who died in the struggle of Kotabaru, so there
was one more of militant moslem who famous as integrity in Yogyakarta and also
member from the committee of mosque building. He’s name Haji Benjamin who have
opinion to give name the mosque will be built with “Syuhada Mosque”.
But
regarding that mosque had been finished to built and confirmated to
announcement, Haji Benjamin had die in 1950 Jule 4th. Syuhada mosque had been
finished to built and had been confirmated to announcement in 1952 September
20th which coincide with 1st Muharam, that was new year of moslem 1272 . When
the confirmated announcement that mosque had been attended president
Ir.Soekarno, departments and the others important officials.
Syuhada mosque had been
built as live monument which symbolic and have purpose to get up the spirit of
nationalism and grow up soul of patriotism. And then to manage mosque for next
again given to youngers. That monument which as grow up the spirit of youngers
generation for continued the struggle of heroes who had died in the war place.
As to realization of struggle Indonesian youngers generation after independent
with participation saved and everlasting the history building, everlasting the nation culture,
diligent to study and participation to greatness of moslem religious.

Shape the committee of
building syuhada mosque in yogyakarta. The committee of Syuhada mosque building
who elder to Mr. Asaat and the deputy of elder with B.P.H Prabuningrat, Ki
Moesa Machfoeld as leader of building. Supono as a head of executor and IR.R
Feenstra as an advice of technical. That committee had been installed in 1949
October 14th by Religion Department KH. Masjkur. In 1950 August 17th had do the
constant to direction line of Mecca by KH. Badawi. In 1950 September 23th had
dispised the first stone to build by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. Syuhada was
build in about 2 year in 1949 up to 1952
Masehi.
Syuhada mosque
Yogyakarta had been confirmated announcement in 1 Muharram 1372 Hijriah or 1
Sura 1883 which coincide 1952 Masehi September 20th. After confirmation
announcing, the management handling had given to donated corporation. That is
Yayasan Asrama and Mosque (YASMA) in under protection Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono

of The book History of Building Syuhada Mosque that given to Z.A. Ahmad who had been suddenly leave in the Mecca with the result

Ismuha, Anwar Alwi, Mohd.Djunanz.
The next organization of Building
Syuhada Mosque had been row to fluent and perfection the building Syuhada
Mosque like that:
1. The
committee of Syuhada Mosque as a highest of organization from all of them to
activity will be going on and as an organization that responsible all of the
result.
2. Direct,
that have task to purchase the things that needed to build the mosque that
cheap cost with the best quality. There are task of purchase from order Opzichter as the planning of building,
Direction also to payment.
3. Opzichter are
a responsible the quality all of them materials to building, Opzichter also
have a technical advisor that kind of from the profesionals Indonesian
technical and foreign.
4. Technical
of advisor; get the advice that good to fluent Opzichter activity. The advisor
technical have relathionship to committee that every organization have each
others assignment. They have good relationship with honesty and sincerely.
The last year in 1949,
when Yogyakarta city as a center of the goverment RI had been negotiation
between Indonesia Delegation with Dutch in Gravenhag of Dutch. In that moment
appear the idea if the center of the
goverment RI will be come back again to metropolitan city in Jakarta. So that
appear to made of monument as an archaeological remains to Yogyakarta, to
remainder of Yogyakarta as a struggle city and to remainder the struggle to
independent of Indonesia. The history building that appropriate with sincerely
and the holy of struggle to Indonesia nation that realization with Jami’ mosque.
That building have benefit and will be immediately live with ambience life of
moslem.
In 23 September 1950 had been put
the first of stone to built the mosque by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX as a
defense of ministry RI and as a head
territory of Special Region of Yogyakarta. That before had been settled
of orientational polarizability line of Syuhada mosque by K.H. Badawi in 17
August 1950. In 25 May 1952 had been exist too the institute of Syuhada Mosque
dormitory that concise with YASMA. And then the building Syuhada Mosque had been
published and legally in 20 September 1952. After that in 26 September 1952 had
been going on the first of Jum’at praying with imam and Khotib by Muhammad
Natsir. In that moment H.Drs.M. Hatta as a deputy of president RI give the
first lecture in the auditorium of
basement floor. That moment H.Drs.M. Hatta had come back from haji praying in
the Mecca. In 13 September 1953 Syuhada Mosque get contribution 24 sheet of
carpet made by Karachi Pakistan. The next to responsible and manage the mosque
extend to Committee of Syuhada Mosque that stand in 14 October 1949 that had
been changed to be Institute of dormitory and Syuhada Mosque that concise with
YASMA SYUHADA. There are the poem that written by Chairil Anwar that give the spirit
to younger Indonesia, like that:

B. Formulation of the
Problem
Syuhada Mosque as a mosque building
which have more modern facilities. Eventhough that mosque was not more big, but
that building have a modern architecture and uniqueness. That building also
have special characteristic from others mosque. The basic of building Syuhada
Mosque as a monument live to remains the
struggle. And also the purpose to give the spirit of nationalism and growing
the patriotism. The wishes that place will be benefit to many people to
remainded as a history place. So that place give the spirit the youngers to
continous the struggle of the heroes that had die in the war place.
If we come to visiting Syuhada
Mosque for praying or learning religion knowledge and Al-Qur’an, we will into
the eminent room of Syuhada Mosque that have 17 of stairs into up floor. The
around of mosque there are 8 angle of gateway pole, 4 under cupola and 5 upper
cupola that big. That are symbol from the date, month and year of the most
event of proclamation independent Indonesia in 17-8-“45.
Syuhada mosque kinds of 3 floor,
that are basement floor or auditorium
that old year as a lecture room for UII. In that room there are 20
windows that purpose to ventilasi and also have the meaning to remains
characterictics of the God that amounted 20. Whereas in the second floor or the
middle floor as a musholla, the place for women praying. There are kinds of 2
big pole that support the mosque building. That awesome to essence of humanity life.
Besides of middle room there are
library, that room for student, college student or around society to learning
religion knowledge.
And the last of third floor or upper
floor that used to Friday praying. In the chamber of mosque there are 5 wind
hole that have meaning to remains the essential principle of Islam that
amounted 5. When we exit from the upper floor the mosque and standing up there
in front of building, we will seing some old buildings that have unique
architecture inheritance of Dutch. And also we will seing two of church
buildings Protestan and Katholic.
According the geographycal Syuhada
mosque there are besides of two bridge and two big street. That are Gondolayu
bridge that above to Code river and the Sultanburg bridge that known as with Kretek Kewek bridge. There are also two
big street, that are Jenderal Sudirman street that old known as Gondokusuman
street, and Abu Bakar Ali street beside
of south.
Syuhada
mosque as a Symbols of 5 from the Panca

1. Masjidul
Haram, with Ka’bah (Baitullah) as a center of praying for moslem in the world.
That symbols as belief and coalescence. That argumentation from the saying of
the God/ Alloh, that meanings:
“The truth the first

2. Masjidil
Rassul (Medina), that place there are grave of Nabi Muhammad saw that maked

“All of the people that
belief in Alloh, let’s to obedient to Alloh and the prophet and the people that
hold of the goverment besides you”.
(QS.Annisa ayat 59).

The Holy of Alloh that have carry out in the night to slave from Masjidil Haram
to Masjidil Aqsho that blessing around the places.

the soul all of them Indonesian nation.

Syuhada Mosque to manage of committee or an Institute of dormitory and mosque
that mention of YASMA. The institute that manage for execute of mandate and
manage Syuhada mosque building according in good function. The institute that
stand in 18 September 1952 facing in a certai direction of notary RM. Wiranto
with chief BPH.Prabuningrat, that has change the name become Institute of dormitory and Syuhada Mosque
(YASMA SYUHADA). And the next to position general chief usually given to side
of Palace Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, as a soil donation there are mosque stand
in. In 2008 up to 2013 that position of general chief has instruction to H.
Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Djatiningrat (H. Tirun Marwito, SH). There are

The
purpose to making the Documentary film with tittle“History Standing of Syuhada
mosque and LPQMS in Yogyakarta”as an assignment for my last study. While that
take it easy for many people get information about history and Education of Al-Qur’an in Syuhada Mosque
Yogyakarta with watching the documentary film. I want that film have benefit in
the general to remembering history and the strugle of heroes in Yogyakarta.
And also i want the documentary film to known
as in the general society if Syuhada Mosque Yogyakarta which is a history and
culture buildings in Special Region Yogyakarta there are center of city. And
then in the Syuhada mosque there are organization of LPQMS that is organization
to learning Al-Qur’an begun elementary up to tilawah Al-Qur’an or Qiroah, to be
profesional reader an Al-Qur’an. LPQMS as a center of learning Al-Qur’an in
Yogyakarta city that lead with some lecture or ustad and ustadzah that capable
and competent. They have profesional skill to teach each other class for
learning an AL-Qur’an.

want in the general known as well LPQMS as a Center Organization Learning
Al-Qur’an in Yogyakarta city that has result some public figure that awesome
and famous, like a Qori or Qoriah National and International. So that many
people interesting to learning an Al-Qur’an in LPQMS, and also give spirit the
younger Indonesia to continous struggle with constant to learning anything.

a documentary film that talk about education of Al-Qur’an. The opportunely i was
ever learning there, so that i have idea if i want making a documentary film
about LPQMS.
I think that are good idea, because
never someone has making the documentary film about LPQMS before. I have to
known as well many people in the Syuhada mosque and that are my comunitee to
learning an Al-Qur’an or get many knowledge of religion.
So that i have take it easy to get
many information and materials to making documentary film about education of
Al-Qur’an in LPQMS. Many people has respect to help me in the process making
the video for materials to be
documentary film.The documentary film talk about education and also talk about
struggle, religion, history and culture. Making a documentary film that purpose
to known Syuhada mosque building as history building and as a spiritual tourism
place in general. And also as a center
of lecture Islam knowledge to around society of Yogyakarta and Indonesia.

I think that film will be benefit to many people and get a lot of information
about LPQMS that inside in Syuhada mosque. When they watching the documentary
film, many people will be get information and
to know more activities to be going on there are.
I wish the documentary film that
maked will be benefit to known as well about LPQMS in general specialy around
Yogyakarta society and Indonesia people. And then i want to many people can be
respectful and remains the struggle of
the heroes that had die to struggle independent Indonesia nation. The
documentary film as contribute to give spirit the youngers Indonesia to
continue the struggle. In old time the heroes to struggle with pointed of
bamboo, but righ now let’s we continous the struggle with learning anything, go
in the direction Indonesia intelligent. For example learning an Al-Qur’an and

AND SUGGESTION
A.Conclution
I
suppose to enough and wishes the inscription to benefit many people that
reading an articles to known as well the history building of Syuhada Mosque
Yogyakarta and the organization there are. And also many people around
Yogyakarta to participate to everlasting that building and proud of them.
Welfare to continous struggle the heroes that had die in the war place with
sincerely and sacriface. We respectful with them to continous the struggle and
has been formed the feeling glorious the heroes. And also to participate as
well as greatness to Islam religion. I wish success and Godbless to once again,
Jazakumullah khoiron katsiron.
B.Suggestion
After
to know about history standing Syuhada mosque and LPQMS in Yogyakarta, we have
get many experience that awesome the struggle of the standing and the pioner. I wishes the
youngers Indonesia keep on to constant of struggle and keep spirit to continous
learning anything. The youngers that competent participate to slave knowledge
to others as a contribution our struggle, to participate educated of nation.
There are message from Ustad Herfan
Said, S.Ag as a delegation Qori International Indonesia that lecture of
Takhassus Tilawah Al-Qur’an in Syuhada mosque Yogyakarta. I get some wise of
message, when i was active again to following the lecture of Takhassus
Al-Qur’an in 19 March 2017. There are message from Ustad Herfan Said,S.Ag :
“If
we want to be successful, so that we should eager our secular, don’t to eager
others secular. That life never be going on to flawless, but up and down is
certainly. Walk, sure there are swell, curve. For example if we seing the metal
that warm and then handiwork before has to be something. The metal that was
nothing values but after experience the process to be something, it have the
value. Like that ourself, that meaning about our effort and our initiative to
be success. If we loved to Qiroah secular, so we should loved with qiroah too.
Constant to inisiative with continue to learning tilawah Al-Qur’an to be the
best”.
I
am as Indonesian younger have a jargon to keep spirit the Indonesian youngers,
like that:
“Don’t give up
never give up to learning anything, go in the direction of Indonesia
Intelligent”, Jazakumullah khoiron katsiron.
